ABOUT THE SALON
Prickly Pear Salon was established in 2017 when Laura branched out on her own to create a salon suite where clients could receive services while feeling right at home. She focused on creating a space where she could be her authentic self, encouraging her clients to do the same and to flourish and grow from the inside out.
Fast forward to 2021, Prickly Pear Salon grew into its first brick and mortar salon in the heart of Cary, North Carolina. Laura continues to create a welcoming environment while also living into her values of being a sustainable salon.
Our mission is to empower stylists and clients alike through high-quality salon services, education and sustainable salon practices so that we can have a positive impact on the world.
WE BELIEVE
We believe that your salon experience should feel both laid back and luxurious. Authentic and welcoming. A place where you can walk out feeling uplifted and refreshed. None of the pretentious BS.
We believe in gender-neutral services because we believe hair has no gender. We price our services based on time & product rather than labels. We believe in being an ally to the LGBTQ community and creating a safe environment for all to receive services.
We believe in operating with integrity and respect to the Earth. By partnering with SalonCycle, we are able to recycle and divert up to 90% of our salon waste. This includes hair clippings, excess color, used foils, snack wrappers, and coffee pods. We use energy efficient light bulbs and thermostats to reduce our energy consumption throughout the salon. In addition, we use a refillable water cooler to provide drinks to our guests and to reduce single-use plastics in the salon. We also carry brands such as KEVIN.MURPHY and Marley’s Monsters to help each of our guests on their journey to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
