Owner

Prickly Pear Salon started with a pretty simple belief: great hair should feel good, but so should the experience of getting it done. After years in the industry, I wanted to build a salon where guests could feel comfortable being themselves, stylists could grow without burning out, and the whole experience felt thoughtful, transparent, and a little less intimidating.

As the owner of Prickly Pear, my work now lives in the details that shape your visit. I’m focused on the systems, education, team culture, and guest experience that help our stylists do their best work and help you feel taken care of from the moment you walk in. That means clear communication, a welcoming environment, intentional service offerings, and a team that understands your hair should work with your lifestyle, not against it.

My background behind the chair still shapes so much of how I lead. I care deeply about consultations, honest expectations, continuing education, and creating a salon experience that feels calm, collaborative, and human. You should never feel pressured, talked down to, or like you’re supposed to know all the “right” salon words before you come in. We’re here to help you figure it out.

What makes my approach different is that I think a salon should be good for the people on both sides of the chair. I believe guests get the best experience when stylists feel supported, clear, educated, and empowered. So much of my work is behind the scenes now, but it all comes back to the same goal: building a salon where people feel safe, seen, and genuinely cared for.

Outside of salon owner life, I’m usually working on a DIY project, reading, thrifting, overthinking a spreadsheet in a deeply productive way, or finding a new gluten-free recipe to try. I love creativity, community, and making the salon feel like a place where real people with real lives can exhale a little.
