Kayla Tenney

Hi, I’m Kayla! As Salon Manager, I’m the one keeping everything humming behind the scenes while making sure every guest and stylist feels right at home. My background in retail, management, and social media gives me a unique mix of organization, creativity, and people skills, all things I bring to the table every day at Prickly Pear.

After my daughter Louise was born, I found myself craving work that aligned with my values of balance, connection, and growth. Joining this team felt like a perfect fit. I get to combine my love of structure with my passion for people while helping create a space that’s as kind and welcoming as it is efficient.

Day to day, I focus on the details that make the guest experience seamless while supporting our team behind the scenes. I love that every part of my role connects to the bigger picture — making sure the salon runs smoothly, the team feels supported, and guests walk out glowing.

Beyond the salon, I’m mom to Louise and fur-mom to Bubba and Gwen. I care deeply about advocacy around queerness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and mental health. When I’m not leading the team, you can usually find me thrifting, spending time with my family, or unwinding with a little reality TV.
