Hey there, I’m Laura, stylist, salon owner, and the creative mind behind Prickly Pear Salon. With over fifteen years in the beauty industry, I’ve built my career around empowering both stylists and clients to embrace authenticity and confidence. What started as a dream to do great hair has grown into a mission to change the way commission salons operate by centering growth, flexibility, and team culture.

As someone who is neurodivergent, I care deeply about creating a space where everyone feels seen, supported, and comfortable. Prickly Pear was built to be more than just a salon. It’s a community, one that prioritizes balance, connection, and belonging for both our guests and our team.

I specialize in dimensional color, including lived-in, low-maintenance blondes and redheads, as well as precision cutting. My approach blends artistry with strategy, helping clients achieve effortless looks that feel as good as they look. I’m passionate about educating both guests and stylists to maintain healthy, beautiful hair and build sustainable, fulfilling careers.

When I’m not behind the chair or working on the business side of Prickly Pear, you’ll find me with my rescue crew of two pit mixes and three cats or baking something gluten-free. Creativity follows me everywhere, whether it’s designing cozy corners at home, finding vintage treasures, or building systems that support people I care about.
