WHAT TO EXPECT
We know trusting someone new with your hair is a big deal, and we don’t take that lightly.
At Prickly Pear Salon, our goal is to help you feel comfortable, cared for, and confident from the moment you book until long after you leave.

BEFORE YOUR VISIT
We use Mangomint for appointment management. You can view your appointment details, stylist, and forms anytime through your Client Portal.(https://manage.wix.com/dashboard/4c7b65e9-c6be-4f34-8629-38d1ff76a9b9/wix-faq/create/26ae5fe6-be39-419f-b90f-c5ab163e18ce#)
After booking, you'll receive a confirmation text and email including a link to your forms.We ask all new guests to complete their New Guest Intake Form at least 48 hours before their appointment.
This helps us to make sure you're booked for the right services with the right stylist for you! If your form is not completed within the 48 hour window, your appointment may be cancelled or rescheduled until we can confirm your appropriate service timing. You can find your New Guest Intake Form in your initial confirmation email and text message!
If you need to make changes or have questions, text or call us at 919-884-5740. We’re happy to help with service adjustments or rescheduling!
About 24 hours before your appointment, you’ll receive a quick form to personalize your visit. You can:
• Choose your vibe for the day (quiet, chatty, or in-between)
• Upload any additional inspiration photos
• Note any special requests or time constraints
We’ll make sure everything is ready for you. You’re always welcome to bring a laptop, book, or lunch since this time is totally yours!
Please arrive with clean, dry hair. Washing your hair the night before or morning of your appointment is perfect. Avoid heavy oils or styling products so we can see your natural texture and tone.
We’re located in the Village Square Shopping Center at the corner of Walnut Street and Cary Towne Boulevard, near Primo Pizza. There’s plenty of parking in front of the salon and around the side of the building!
You’ll receive a reminder via email and text 48 hours before asking you to confirm your appointment as well as a text the morning of your visit with a link to complete your Appointment Customization Form if you haven’t already.
We recommend wearing something comfy and something you don’t mind getting a little product or color on. While we keep our space tidy and do everything we can to protect your clothing, hair services can get messy...foils slip, bowls splatter, life happens. Prickly Pear Salon is not responsible for damage to clothing, so save your favorite pieces for after your appointment!
PS - neutral colors photograph best if we capture after photos of your hair!
We understand that life happens and plans can change. If you ever need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. This allows us to offer the time to another guest and supports our stylists in managing their schedules effectively.
While we always aim to be as flexible and understanding as possible, no-call/ no-shows or last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) may result in a non-refundable rebooking fee, up to $100, or limited access to future appointments.
In return, if we ever need to cancel your appointment last-minute due to a stylist emergency or illness, we’ll do our best to accommodate you. We’ll make every effort to rebook you with your original stylist once they return or offer you an appointment with another team member within 5 days of your original service.
To cancel or reschedule your appointment, you can easily reach us in any of these ways:
• Online: Log into our online booking portal (Mangomint) using your email to manage or modify your appointment.
• Text/Call: Send us a text or call 919-884-5740. (If we aren’t able to answer immediately, please leave a message – we will get back to you!)
• Email: Shoot us an email at info@pricklypearsalon.com with your appointment details.
There’s no perfect guest. Whether you’re coming straight from the gym or from work, we’re just happy you’re here!

DURING YOUR VISIT
You’ll receive a text message when you arrive to complete self check-in. Once you’re checked in, feel free to grab a refreshment from our self-serve mini fridge or a snack from our hospitality bar.
Your appointment begins with a thorough consultation where we’ll revisit your goals, review inspiration photos, and assess your hair’s health and history. Whether you want a subtle refresh or a full transformation, we’ll create a plan that fits your lifestyle.
We’re proud to be a sustainable salon using Vish color management, reusable towels, and Green Circle Recycling to minimize waste without sacrificing care or quality. Every visit supports a cleaner, more conscious beauty industry.
Your appointment is your time. You can enjoy quiet time, conversation, or somewhere in between. Feel free to scroll your phone, listen to music, or even work while your color processes. We’ll check in often to make sure you’re comfortable.
You may see another team member assisting your stylist with a gloss, blowout, or photo finish. Collaboration is part of our culture, ensuring you receive the best possible result.
From LED lighting to reusable foils and eco-friendly backbar products, every step of your service is designed to reduce waste and protect our planet — all without compromising on results.
We want you to love your hair every day, not just the day you leave the salon!
FINISHING UP
When your service wraps up, we’ll check you out at the front desk, help you pre-book your next appointment, and make sure you have everything you need for at-home care. You’ll leave refreshed, empowered, and confident.
Before you leave, your stylist will walk you through styling techniques and care tips tailored to your hair type. We’ll recommend products only if they genuinely support your results — no pressure, just guidance.
We may capture photos of your finished look to showcase our work. Not into being photographed? No problem. We can focus on your hair only, keeping you comfortable and off-camera if you prefer.
Service Adjustment & Refund Policy
We want you to love your hair! If you’re experiencing any challenges with your cut or color, please reach out within 7 days of your original appointment. We offer complimentary Perfecting Sessions to refine or correct the original service. These adjustments are meant to refine or adjust the work already done, not to accommodate a change of mind or a new desired look.
All hair services are non-refundable. Your original stylist will complete the Perfecting Session whenever possible, though management is always available to support or step in if needed. In rare cases where a refund must be considered, any exceptions are reviewed at management’s discretion.
Retail Return Policy
We want you to feel confident in the products you take home and how they support your hair goals. Unopened retail items may be exchanged or returned for salon credit within 30 days of purchase. Opened or used products may be exchanged for another product or salon credit within 14 days of purchase.. All retail returns or exchanges are subject to management approval.
If we ever feel your goals might be a better fit with another stylist — even outside our salon — we’ll gladly refer you. You deserve to love your hair every time.
